Farm to School and School Gardens in Oregon: Past, Present and Future
Join us for a webinar on Feb 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM PST.
Farm to School policy in Oregon has achieved some notable successes at both the state and local levels. The Oregon Department of Education has recently announced 11 new Farm to School and School Garden awards to school districts throughout the state. Public health, agriculture and education advocates have found common ground in supporting Farm to School and School Garden programs, and an expanded Farm to School bill has been introduced in the 2013 legislative session. Please join this webinar to learn more about Farm to School and School Garden programs in Oregon, the recent grants to expand Farm to School programs in 11 school districts, and opportunities to support the legislative initiative this session.
This webinar will be led by Megan Kemple of the Willamette Farm & Food Coalition, Rick Sherman of the Oregon Department of Education, and Kasandra Griffin of Upstream Public Health. This webinar is hosted by the Northwest Regional Convergence Partnership, a collaboration involving Kaiser Permanente Northwest, the Meyer Memorial Trust and the Northwest Health Foundation. Please note that the policy positions expressed by discussion leaders are not necessarily the policy positions of any of the contributing Convergence Partnership funders.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
