Tobacco-Free Coalition of Oregon advocates for programs and policies that will help people kick their tobacco habit and prevent kids from ever picking it up in the first place.
Successes:
- Required landlords to disclose smoking policies in residential rental agreements in 2009
- Banned the sales and distribution of tobacco products through vending machines in 2009
- Prohibited the distribution of free tobacco-product samples, such as chewing tobacco, in 2009
- Got health insurers to cover tobacco cessation programs in 2009
