Welcome to Upstream Public Health

Who We Are

Upstream Public Health promotes the health of all Oregonians by advocating straightforward, doable policies that create communities where people can thrive. We do this by looking at the scientific, social, political, cultural, and economic factors that influence our well being - and using that information to find the best broad-based preventive solutions for the most pressing health issues of our time.

At Upstream, we believe that policy solutions are essential because they guarantee that everyone regardless of age, background, and location benefits, plus, they ensure that future generations will be protected. We are dedicated to creating meaningful dialogue, engaging community, and using the tools of research and advocacy to support public policies that will make us all healthier.
