Welcome to Upstream Public Health

Upstream is not a place; it's a philosophy about how to seek solutions to public health concerns.

Effective health promotion must address the scientific, social, political, cultural, and economic factors that influence our health. Upstream Public Health is dedicated to creating meaningful dialogue, engaging community, and using the tools of research and advocacy to support public policies that promote the health of Oregonians.

Upstream Public Health is a member of the Oregon Nutrition Policy Alliance (ONPA), a partnership of child and health advocates, educators, nutrition experts, pediatricians, other health care providers, and national public health associations, including the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association.
